Introduction and application of grooved fittings
The design specification of automatic sprinkler system proposes that the connection of system pipelines should be connected by grooved connectors or threads and flanges; Pipes with a diameter equal to or greater than 100mm in the system should be connected by flanges or grooved connectors in sections.
Groove pipe fitting connection technology, also known as clamp connection technology, has become the current liquid and gas pipeline connection of the first recommended technology, although this technology was developed later in China than abroad, but due to its advanced technology, it was quickly accepted by the domestic market. Since 1998, after just a few years of development and application, it has gradually replaced the two traditional pipe connection methods of flange and welding. Not only is the technology more mature, the market is also generally recognized, and it has been actively guided by national laws and regulations.
The application of groove pipe fitting connection technology makes the complex pipe connection process simple, fast and convenient. This is a big step forward in pipe connection technology.
Grooved fittings include two main categories of products:
(1) The pipe fittings that play the role of connection and sealing include rigid joints, flexible joints, mechanical tees and grooved flanges;
(2) The pipe fittings that play the role of connection transition include elbows, tees, crosses, reducers, blind plates, etc.
There are three main parts of groove connection pipe fittings that play the role of connecting and sealing: sealing rubber ring, clamp and locking bolt. The rubber seal on the inner layer is placed on the outside of the pipe to be connected and fits the pre-rolled groove, and then the clamp is fastened on the outside of the rubber ring and then fastened with two bolts. Due to the unique sealable structure design of its rubber sealing ring and clamp, the groove connection has good sealing, and its sealing performance is correspondingly enhanced with the increase of fluid pressure in the pipe.
As an advanced pipe connection method, grooved pipe fitting connection can be either exposed or buried, that is, there are rigid joints and flexible joints. Therefore, it has a wide range of applications.
(1) According to the system: it can be used for fire water system, air conditioning hot and cold water system, water supply system, petrochemical pipeline system, thermal power and military pipeline system, sewage treatment pipeline system, etc.;
(2) According to the material of the pipeline: it can be used to connect steel pipes, copper pipes, stainless steel pipes, plastic-lined steel pipes, ductile iron pipes, thick-walled plastic pipes, hoses and valves with steel pipe joints and flange joints.
